The Nintendo D(ual) S(creen) is probably the best handheld on the market.
The DS has two screens: The top one is a game screen for DS games and the bottom one is a touch sensitive screen (this the majority of the user’s input/action takes place). The DS also comes with a stylus, the stylus is used on the touch sensitive screen, of course.
The Nintendo DS, like its (poor) cousin, the Gameboy Advance has been overhauled as well. The Nintendo DS Lite is lighter and slimmer than the original DS. The DS Lite can also utilize e-Reader. That’s it. It merely more asthetically pleasing than the other model.
Now you may be wondering what all of the above means to gaming. Now I don’t own a DS, but I kind of have the impression that using the DS will be a distraction or unnecessary. And that’s probably true the first few times you use it, however, have no worries you’ll grow into it.
Also, the gameplay for the DS is very innovative (compared to its original start), much like the Nintendo Wii. Like the Gameboy Advance and the Gamecube, the Nintendo DS can connect also to the Nintendo Wii, allowing players to play DS games on TV.
The Nintendo DS also has many games and variety should not be too much of a problem. Also, as mentioned in Gameboy Advance SP, the DS is backwards compatible for Gameboy Advance games (and GBA games ONLY).
The DS, like the GBA SP, has a rechargable lithium ion battery and can last from 6-10 hours. I’ll go ahead an assume it can be recharged under 500 hundred times.
I’d recommend getting this if you’re interested in Gameboy Advance games and DS games. The DS has a long life ahead of it, so take advantage now.

Nintendo is very smart, from the beginning they have dominated the gaming console market since around 1988 when the nes came out, and ever since they ve always look for a way or another to dominate the market, with better graphics or not
